I've had this tank for years and have a love/hate relationship with it. It's awkward to work in and has
minimal room for equipment to go in and out, yet I love the extra depth and unusual shape for scaping. It
probably looked its best when I had a rock wall set up in it, but I think I'm getting closer to a pretty decent
plant scape--finally.
I don't know if it's the lights or just where it sits in the room, but this tank is warm--usually in the mid 80s.
It's difficult to find plants that do well in this tank, but when a plant likes it, it usually does very well.
2/26 The plants have already outgrown the rescape, so I removed a few species and juggled a few fast
growers with some slower growers. I need to adjust the powerhead to it quits blowing my Diandra over. I'm
not happy with the Hygro ceylon--it makes the right hand side too busy. It's still got a long way to go to look
like an attractive scape instead of a weed patch. But the plants are gradually finding their place in the tank.
5/4/06 There have been a few minor
scaping changes. The plants have
really filled in. This is just before a
trim, so there's a little algae on the
driftwood that needs to be removed.

The changes to the tank are becoming less dramatic and less frequent. I've learned which plants
thrive in this tank and which plants hate this tank.
