The wood in this tank was too big to soak it for a long time before I put it in the tank (it only fit in the bathtub). I had a terrible time with stuff leaching from the wood for quite a while. The wood seems to be settling in the tank now. Now it's time to get rid of the algae and let the plants fill in.

Now that the tank has settled, there
isn't much change. Most of the plants
are slow growers and the rest are
easily thinned. This is becoming a
nice, low-maintenance tank.

This had become one of my favorite tanks. One of the pieces of wood started breaking down and
fouling the water. I used rocks this time. This has been converted to a gravel over soil substrate.
