I took everything out of this tank January 22,
2006. Just for fun, I put the rocks in and asked
for planting suggestions at Planted Tank. Here's
the hardscape, complete with all the floating crud
stirred up while redoing the tank.

Here's the initial planting based on my interpretation of
the suggestions received.
Since the initial setup, I've decided the fish didn't look right with the aquascape. So I tore it apart to catch all
the fish and then put it back roughly the way it was. The new occupants are julidochromis transcriptus and
assorted tetras.
The next change was deciding to move the rest of my Cyperus helferi to this tank. The Blyxa auberti moved
in front of the rock to make room for it. Star grass was added to the right front corner and some diandra was
tucked in the back. A few sprigs of other plants are scattered around (darn collectoritis).
2/19/06 I've done something to upset the tank. The new growth on the stargrass is stunted. The older
growth on the Cyperus has developed algae. I trimmed the old leaves on it today.

I've torn the tank apart again. Two of the transcriptus
have paired off and are harassing the other 3. The 3
smaller ones were removed. The tank has become more
tranquil.
I'm hoping I've settled on HC as the foreground. I've
added 2 more Blyxa auberti and removed most of the
stems.
This tank just never quite fit into it's spot, but the new Oceanic 29 Gary brought home looks great in
it's old spot. For the new location, I decided to remove the back and try to scape the tank so it
could be viewed from both sides. I put soil in this one too. The waters a little cloudy from replanting.
I wasn't thinking about the recent drop in temperature when I refilled the tank. It was a while before
I put my hand in it and realized it was way too cold for the fish. I lost my transcriptus. :-(
